Centro Ecologico Akumal is a center for environmental education and protection of marine life located in the waters off of Akumal, Mexico. During a visit to Tulum, Patti Halstead and I were privileged to paint some of the endangered species of the reef system.
Patti Halstead is a surface designer, with expertise in plasters and metallic coatings.
She created the relief/glyph pattern around the perimeter of the mural, while I painted the interior imagery.
